Vision for Jerome Burkett Ministries Originally written in 2010
Years ago God put in my heart a place for men to go who would like a second step up in their Christian walk. I was learning deliverance from mind sets that keep us in bondage at that time. In my spirit, I saw a deliverance center for men. Today, as the vision has come to pass years later, I see that it is more of an intense discipleship for men coming out of Christ based rehab. Today it is up and running and producing leaders. God has placed a new vision in my spirit. I once lived in Greenville, SC.
There I saw many avenues of ministry taking place in different areas. I saw homeless shelters, inpatient rehabs, jail ministries, discipleship programs, and a Church that had many ministries operating together. What grieved me a little was all those programs didn’t believe the same and they were separated. My vision is to see all these kinds of ministries being birthed under one vision and one understanding of scripture. God showed me that those that I am training up will be the leaders in these ministries. As these grow we will need a building we will use to minister to the city.
Through outreach we will compel the ones to come in and get the life giving word of the Kingdom of God and Jesus Christ being our King. Understanding of Kingdom government and Kingdom law and how to be born into this Kingdom will be its norm. But, there will be many other levels of ministry to develop the spirit, soul and body of an individual to complete maturity of knowing who they are in Christ. Therefore, we will be fulfilling the great commission to disciple nations.
My goal is to have places for people to go where their need is. And, having somewhere and some people I can trust with the care they will be given. In doing that it starts with the responsibility of getting these guys trained up. Teaching them to count the cost and to learn how to pick up their cross, deny themselves, and follow Jesus. We will produce many businesses - carwashes, lawn care, handyman, just for a start. This is a huge vision and it’s too big for me. But I thought what has already manifested was too big for someone like me to accomplish. With God, nothing is impossible and if He is leading it, I’m not going to worry about it. I’m not one to kick down doors, but at the same time I continue to see God open every single one of them. I hold on to the scripture that if I be faithful with little HE will make me ruler of much.
The key is managing effectively what He puts before you. I love you very much and I hope this vision helps me, you, your children and many to come in these last days. I covet your prayers for this opportunity to change society back to what God intended.
